How can we help?

Write to support@getclementine.app — we usually reply within two business days. Please include your macOS version and, if something went wrong, the file type and the tool you used.

Where is Clementine after I open it?

Clementine lives in the menu bar (the clementine icon at the top right of your screen), not in the Dock. Click it for Floats, the tool palette, Settings and the Welcome guide.

How do the drag wheels work?

Start dragging any file — from Finder, the desktop, Mail or a browser — and while you’re still dragging, tap Shift: a wheel of formats appears around the pointer. Drop the file on a petal to convert it. Tap Command for tools (compress, crop, trim…) or Control for actions. You can change the keys and the petals in Settings › Wheels.

Where are my converted files?

In the App Store version, results are saved in your Downloads folder until you allow a folder: open Settings › Output › Folder Access and choose Allow a Folder… (your home folder covers Desktop, Documents and Downloads). After that, results are saved next to the originals. Originals are never changed or overwritten.

How do I find a tool quickly?

Select files in Finder, press Control‑Option‑K and type what you want — “mp3”, “sign”, “watermark” — then press Return.

Transcription or screen text doesn’t work

The first time, macOS asks for permission. If you clicked “Don’t Allow”, open System Settings › Privacy & Security and turn on Clementine under Speech Recognition (transcription) or Screen & System Audio Recording (Control‑Option‑T screen text), then try again.

Converting Pages, Keynote or Numbers files

These conversions use Apple’s free Pages, Keynote and Numbers apps. Install them from the App Store, and click OK when macOS asks whether Clementine may control them.

A conversion failed

Clementine shows the reason in its progress panel. Damaged or password-protected files can’t be converted. If a file looks fine but still fails, send it (or a description of it) to support@getclementine.app.
