Images
Turn JPG images into a PDF on your Mac.
Phone snaps of receipts, a passport scan, homework pages — forms want one PDF, not seven photos. Select them all, drop on PDF and they become pages of a single document.
Or with Homebrew: brew install --cask kapyar/tap/clementine
Your files never leave your Mac unless you share them.
How it works
Drag the images (select several)
From Finder, the Desktop, Mail or a browser — anywhere you can drag a file.
Tap ⇧, drop on PDF
Hold Shift (⇧) while dragging and a wheel appears around your pointer. Drop on PDF.
Done
You get one PDF, a page per image. The original is never changed.
Why Clementine
These are usually the most private files you own — IDs, bank letters, medical forms. Clementine builds the PDF on your Mac and never sends a page anywhere.
- Pages follow the order you dragged the images in
- Mix JPG, PNG and HEIC in the same PDF
- Each page fits its image, portrait or landscape
- Runs on your Mac — nothing is uploaded
PDF Saves a copy as PDF next to the original. The original stays as it is.
This is the wheel you’ll see. Point at other petals to see what else the file can do.
Questions
Can I reorder pages afterwards?
Yes. Open the PDF with Organize Pages on the ⌘ wheel and drag pages into place.
The PDF is large — can I shrink it?
Run Compress PDF on it, or compress the images first. Phone photos are big; a document rarely needs full resolution.
Can I make it searchable?
Use Make Searchable (OCR) on the PDF. Text in the images is recognised on your Mac and becomes selectable.
