Convert CSV to Excel on your Mac.

Bank statements, CRM exports and analytics downloads come as CSV — and open as one long, mis-encoded column. Clementine converts them to a proper .xlsx.

Or with Homebrew: brew install --cask kapyar/tap/clementine

Your files never leave your Mac unless you share them.

How it works

  1. Drag your CSV files

From Finder, the Desktop, Mail or a browser — anywhere you can drag a file.

  2. Tap ⇧, drop on XLSX

Hold Shift (⇧) while dragging and a wheel appears around your pointer. Drop on XLSX.

  3. Done

You get Excel workbooks. The original is never changed.

Why Clementine

Exports with customer lists and bank data are converted on your Mac — nothing is uploaded.

  • Detects comma or semicolon delimiters (European exports)
  • Fixes non-UTF-8 encodings so accents look right
  • Also converts to TSV, JSON or a printable PDF
  • Runs on your Mac — nothing is uploaded

XLSX Saves a copy as XLSX next to the original. The original stays as it is.

This is the wheel you’ll see. Point at other petals to see what else the file can do.

Questions

Why does my CSV open as one column?

Usually a semicolon delimiter or a different encoding. Clementine detects both before building the workbook.

Can I go from Excel to CSV?

Yes — see Excel to CSV.
