Audio
Convert OPUS voice messages to MP3 on your Mac.
Voice messages you export from WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal are often .opus (or .ogg) files most apps won’t play. Clementine turns them into MP3s you can keep and play anywhere.
Or with Homebrew: brew install --cask kapyar/tap/clementine
Your files never leave your Mac unless you share them.
How it works
Drag the exported voice messages
From Finder, the Desktop, Mail or a browser — anywhere you can drag a file.
Tap ⇧, drop on MP3
Hold Shift (⇧) while dragging and a wheel appears around your pointer. Drop on MP3.
Done
You get MP3s you can play anywhere. The original is never changed.
Why Clementine
Voice messages are about as personal as files get. Clementine converts them on your Mac — they’re never uploaded to a converter site.
- Works with .opus and Opus-in-.ogg files
- Mono voice notes stay small
- Convert a whole chat export’s audio in one go
- Runs on your Mac — nothing is uploaded
MP3 Saves a copy as MP3 next to the original. The original stays as it is.
This is the wheel you’ll see. Point at other petals to see what else the file can do.
Questions
How do I get the voice message out of the app?
Export or save the chat or the single message to Files, then drag the .opus or .ogg file onto Clementine.
Can I turn the voice message into text?
Yes — run Transcribe on the ⌘ wheel. Speech is recognised on your Mac.
